Kodiak Goat Hunting

The Mountain Goat population on Kodiak Island has exploded in recent years.  Their preference for high altitude cliffs along with their magnificent white coats, make them one of the most challenging and satisfying game animals in Alaska.  Our goat hunts are conducted in ADF&G goat area DG480 in Uyak Bay.  This is a tough hunt involving considerable climbing, so hunters must be in excellent shape and willing to pack a reasonable amount of gear.   Hunters fly into the main lodge from Kodiak and then climb up to a spike camp with backcountry tents and plenty of food and snacks.

Although these can be physically demanding hunts, your chances of harvest are quite high if you are committed to putting in the necessary time and energy. Over the past five years we have averaged about a 90% success rate for our goat hunts.
Upon harvest, hunters return to the main lodge where accommodations include comfortable guest cabins with private bathrooms, hot showers and plentiful delicious meals. They may choose to spend any remaining days deer hunting, fishing, or duck hunting.


Fishing is included on this hunt and is excellent around the lodge. Some clients like to fish for Halibut or Salmon after harvesting their goat. Fishing licenses are available at the lodge.
Sitka Deer Hunting can be added for a goat / deer combo hunt. Kodiak is known for large black-tail bucks and the population is thriving. additional cost: $500 plus tags ($150)
Duck Hunting Can be added to goat hunts. Kodiak abounds with many species of sea ducks. Contact us for more information.

PRICE INCLUDES: One on one guide service, accommodations and meals while at the lodge, all tents, sleeping bags, pads,
camping gear and food while on the mountain. meat and expert trophy care, fishing after meat and hide has been cared for.


 

PRICE DOES NOT INCLUDE:   Airfare between Kodiak and main lodge (@$375 round trip),  hunting license ($85), goat tag ($300), gratuities 

A ½ deposit is required to book the hunt.  Balance is due upon arrival in camp, prior to hunting.
